Pathfinders Children's Ministry

Society calls them “Children in Transition”, “At Risk Youth” and “Throw Away Kids”.

Jesus calls them precious and loved.

There are some 10,000 children and youth in Northern Nevada who are homeless or living in motels, shelters and trailers.

These children are trapped in a cycle and culture of poverty that is extremely difficult to escape.

We believe that no child should be condemned to a life of hopelessness and lack of opportunity because of the circumstances into which they were born.

We are on a mission to see that each and every child has a hope and a future.

BREAKING THE CYCLE OF GENERATIONAL POVERTY

Chuck Grimm

Pathfinders Children’s Ministry | Executive Director

Chuck Grimm shares about Pathfinders Children’s Ministry, which aims to reach out to the 10,000 children living in poverty in the Reno-Sparks area.

The ministry, founded 25 years ago, aims to lead these children to a relationship with Jesus. It operates a fleet of vans and buses to pick up the children, many of whom come from single-parent homes and face challenges like abuse, neglect, and lack of access to nutritious food.

The ministry provides the children with hot meals, Bible studies, small group discussions, and a summer camp experience. Over the years, the ministry has seen many children make commitments to follow Christ, with the highlight being the baptisms of many children this past year.

Chuck talks about the many ways in which volunteers can get involved to support this important work.
