The Friendship Table

The Friendship Table is a group of pastors’ wives, who seek to provide encouragement, prayer, and companionship to one another.

Set in a casual setting, these gatherings are intended to provide a safe place to discuss the unique challenges wives can face in supporting the ministry of their pastor husbands.

Few people fully understand the loneliness and isolation that can result in this role. Many of them are tasked with being supportive spouses and mothers, while also providing support and stability to the ministries they serve.

Having a group of peers who they can confidentially and confidently share their personal joys and challenges offers a unique blessing to their families and the ministries they serve.

THE UNIQUE CHALLENGES THE WIVES OF PASTORS FACE

Jorie Holman, Alexandra Lucas, & Kelly Carlson

The Friendship Circle | Co-Founders

Jorie, Kelly, and Alexandra joined together to share the challenges and blessings of being the wives of pastors. They also talked about the importance of having a supportive community of likeminded peers, which is what they are launching in “The Friendship Table”.

The three women shared their personal journeys and the difficulties they have faced, such as feeling isolated, carrying the burdens of ministry, and dealing with criticism from church members. They emphasized the need for a safe space where pastors’ wives can openly share their struggles and joys, and support one another.

The discussion highlighted the value of peer groups and the role they can play in providing encouragement, prayer, and a sense of community for those in ministry leadership roles.
